Adopt-A-Family needs cash for Operation Warm Heart

The number of Greene County families reaching out to Adopt-A-Family for help with winter outerwear for their children has nearly doubled over last year, and the AAF board is asking for the community’s help in meeting the need.

Registration for the program has already been completed through New Opportunities. According to an AAF board member, 182 children in 71 families are registered. Last year, Operation Warm Heart served 74 children in 40 families.

The AAF board is asking for monetary donations for Operation Warm Heart rather than clothing donations to assure that needs are met for specific sizes of outerwear. Checks payable to Adopt-A-Family can be sent to PO Box 364, Jefferson, IA  50129.

The coat distribution is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17.
